I received a phone call just shy of a month ago, from a VFA-97 spouse. She had found my site while searching for a photographer to take ONE group photo of wives and kiddos … whose families were deployed. It wasn’t too large of a group, maybe 7 families or so, and she asked what I would charge. My response was simple … nothing. I told her I’d come up and donate my time, as my way of saying thanks to what their spouses are out there doing for me, you know … risking their necks for us on daily basis. Her response sort of made me giggle … “But, isn’t your husband in the military too?” Yes, my hubby is in the Navy as well … and I would do the same for our squadron, VFA-94, if they asked. :) What they were asking was so small, and after hearing about their dreadfully long deployment, and it being so close to the holidays, I decided to go three-up — a photo of each family by themselves + an individual shot of each person in that family + group shots of the kiddos by themselves. She was flabbergasted. So, November 1st, bright and early, we all met up outside of their hangar bay … and man, there was some surprisingly good light inside those hangars! There’s a bunch of kiddos out riding their bikes and trikes, little ones playing tag, and lots of laughter! Those kiddos sure got a treat!
While the kiddos were playing, we gathered up all the adults for their group shot … they rocked it:

Next up were adults + kiddos … this shot was an adventure:

After that, I grabbed the families one by one, brought them just inside the hangar, and started snapping away …

Whew! Aren’t these some beautiful families???
Well, that’s all for now … still have a lot more blog catchin’ up to do, so stay tuned!!! :)
Peace & Love,
