Whew! It’s been quite a while since I’ve blogged … too long in fact! The girls and I got really sick a couple of weeks back, and were knocked on our butts for over a week! It was awful! Not soon after, I had the opportunity go out and shoot another homecoming — one of my favorite things in the world! Waiting is the hardest part! Waiting with wind, even harder! Kids are wound up, they want to go home, news crews are every direction you look, and photographers are not in short supply. It’s chaos, at the very least.
It seems like an eternity waiting for that one moment … you know, the one where everyone looks around at the sound of of jets … we hear them first … and then watching them roar through the sky, there’s a sense of calm and excitement all at once — home at last! I can’t even begin to describe the feeling that comes over me, watching the faces of the families who are aching to see their loved ones — it makes you want to laugh and cry at the same time. I love, love, LOVE, being a part of this!
Ok, enough of my rambling … have a looksee at the adorable family I was out there with …

She just wants her daddy home … now … is that asking too much?

Twirling … it really does make it all better! :)

I LOVE homecomings!!!! Welcome Home VFA-41!!!! Good to have you back, and of course, THANK YOU!
PEACE & LOVE
