Mini-Vacation in San Diego

March 30, 2009

With school over for me…for a week anyhow, we decided to take a trip down to San Diego! We got as far as Oceanside before the little one’s decided they had had enough of the car ride, so we stopped at the Longboarder Cafe for some food — yummy burgers and fries – they had a grilled cheese. We met up with Jay Reilly — really rad dude, by the way. Girls really liked his studio — especially the flowers outside. lol After that, we headed out to the beach — pitch black, but the girls still wanted to play in the sand for a bit. Then it was off to SD — stayed with friends in the area, and managed to pack in two more days of fun –

La Jolla was the first beach we headed out too — that place has the coolest sand for reflections, and the sky is soooo BLUE! :) Totally diggin’ it! Rhy was not too big on the cold water…but she did have a blast playing in the sand. They both caught some pretty nice air too –

Then it was on to Coronado — gorgeous beach! We parked ourselves right in front of the Hotel Del, which made for a nice backdrop! :) The girls had a blast jumping off the rocks and playing near the water and in the sand! After that, we headed walkabout for some seafood — yummo! Girls spotted a puppy along the way, and had to stop of course! :)

Our last stop was Old Town Temecula — girls had to show their daddy where this rad dude Zak took our pictures. Mad Madelaines for a burger and fries, the candy store for some fudge, and the soda shop where they got an orange drink in a nifty little bottle shaped like a lion. Next time, we stop for gelato first — they closed for a party as we were walking up! Boo! Then we just hung out by the fountain and let the girls run around for a bit, all the while dreading the return trip to Lemoore! Ugh!

It was great and I cannot wait until next time — 16 days and counting!!!

Mother’s Day Mini’s

March 25, 2009

mothersdayminis2

My kiddos always seem to be doing something sweet for me — it just comes naturally. They are overflowing with love and affection, and it just melts my heart. Robyn will occasionally pour my cereal in the morning, and then carefully bring it in my bedroom, saying “Good morning mommy, I brought you breakfast in bed.” She never fails to wake me up with her sweet “Buenos Dias Mom, I love you.” Then Rhylie pipes in — “can we eat now?” or whispers, “mom mom, anybody home?” Recently, Robyn has been waking me up, then handing me cards saying “I Hart You Mom” – I keep each one.

In light of Mother’s Day this year, I’ve decided to offer 4 Mother’s Day Mini Sessions. What better gift for mom that a photo session by herself, or WITH her children? Below are the details:

Mother’s Day Mini Sessions

Just Mom – $50

Session will take place in downtown Hanford — 7th & Green, and last 30 minutes per mom. Mom’s will receive 10-15 images on CD to reproduce for personal use.

Mom & Kiddos $75

Session can take place in 1 of 3 places — Hidden Valley Park, Freedom Park, or 7th & Green, in Hanford, and last 30 minutes per mom. Mom’s will receive 20-30 images on CD to reproduce for personal use.

If you are interested in booking a session, shoot an e-mail to Jaime Hough

If you e-mail me before May 1st and book a session, I can print or e-mail you a custom designed gift certificate for the Mother’s Day Mini Session!

Peace & Love,

Jaime Hough

Latest Photo Shoot: Conquered Rain & 20 MPH Winds

March 22, 2009

Wow! It was CRAZY in So. Cal today! 20-24 MPH winds, rain that didn’t know what it wanted to do, and I even heard it was hailing a few miles south of our photo shoot! We had considered postponing this session for next weekend, but the weather seemed to be lifting…according to my eyes and the weather channel. So we figured, what the hay…lets shoot! We drove on to the park in Hanford, and as soon as we made our exit — RAIN! Pouring down RAIN! Unreal! We decided to keep on — just because it was raining at 11th avenue, didn’t mean it was raining a few streets down and to the right. Haha, I was right! Bright yellow sun and beautiful blue skies were waiting for us…and 20 MPH chilly chilly wind! We got out and let the kiddos run around — we were out of the woods…right? Haha, not quite. After about 20 minutes of shooting, the rain came back. Luckily, there was a little monster tunnel that I was able to slip my camera into to protect it from the rain. There was also cover above, and after the rain let up into sprinkles, I figured we might as well shoot the kids in the tunnel!

A few minutes later the rain was gone, the sun was shining, the wind stopped, and it was WARM! Yes, thats right…warm! Mom ran the jackets back to the truck and we resumed the shoot without any further weather interruptions. It was so worth it, and we all had a great time! Here’s a few more sneak peaks from their session:
