Alice in Wonderland

Wow, life is seriously crazy right now, and it seems as time goes on, it doesn’t get any less crazy! Between being a mom, homeschooling my kiddos, college courses, photo shoots, and the kids activities, there is barely enough time in the day to think! lol But, I must say that I love it … almost every minute. :) Today was one of those really crazy days — girls slept in, daddy got home really late from work (that means 6:30 AM (he’s a night checker), and I had a shoot in the AM. As I was hanging out in the park with this doll of a 3 year old (who reminds me of Alice, from Alice in Wonderland), and her 7 month old baby bro, there was another photog there doing a shoot with this adorable little girl — her curls were springy! It was the first time I had ever seen another photog out there … let me rephrase … first time I have seen another photog out there doing what I do! It was pretty cool, if I do say so myself … and I do! Anyway, here are some photos from this morning’s shoot –

Miss Cutie Patootie

I had the pleasure of photographing the cutest little 9 month old girl today!!! She was extremely shy at first (maybe it was my 70-200 lens), but the giggles were pouring out after she got to know my camera a little better (and a lens change). :-) She’s in that learning to walk stage … you know, the one where they don’t want help! It was such a joy to be around her, and made me think back to when mine were that little — gosh, it seems like foreverago now! Speaking of them, they totally tagged along for this session — they loooooove babies, especially Robyn — her and her cootchie cootchie coo — always brings a smile out in someone’s baby! A big thank you to her and her mommy — I loooove photographing little ones!!! Without further adieu, here are a few of my faves from our shoot:

Fun in the Foot Hills — Pure Beauty

A month or so ago, I had mentioned that I was donating a session for a Dinner Auction & Fundraiser, in order to help out a darling little boy named Gryphon, whose family was trying to raise money to get him stem cell treatment (from donated blood cord) in China. I am extremely happy to report that they have raised enough money for this great journey, and are now working out the plans for their upcoming trip! I wish them them nothing but the best, and pray that the treatments will be successful!

I was very pleased to get a phone call from the family who had bid on and won the session — they are simply amazing and beautiful and a joy to be around — I feel blessed to know them! Their family owns some gorgeous land up in the foothills, outside of Visalia — it was breathtaking! I was so distracted on the drive — the wildflowers, the hills, the trees — I had never seen such beauty here, in our little part of California. I have the family to thank for this major discovery! It was a long drive, but totally worth every minute!

The first thing I saw was this beautiful little creek, then I looked up — nothing but wildflowers — purple, yellow, white — stunning! Their little girls had a lot of fun running through the flowers…but became a bit nervous when two cows happened to come nearby. We decided to move away from that area, and head back over to the creek — we took off our shoes, rolled up our pants, and started splashing around and skipping rocks in the ankle deep water! It was soooooo nice and refreshing!

While we were over in the creek area … dad skipped a HUGE rock … ultimately sending water splashing up towards my camera — barely missed! The look on his face was priceless:

I was sad to see the shoot end, but the girls were tired, hungry, and thirsty!!! So, we called it a day — it was difficult to leave such a beautiful place, but I plan on taking a drive out there to do my landscape photog homework — yay! I’ll leave you with one last image of the little ones — they are such dolls:
